This is like the definitive coffee break game. Its gameplay is simple enough to learn in five minutes but also deep enough to be engaging.

I've been following this since the itch.io days and I'm glad to see the game doing well, good luck on the full version!!

I think the game could benefit from a little more visual consistency? The switch from earth to space is fine, but in the process you replace the pixel art with 3D looking sprites and the background with the stretched picture of a planet with a white border. Not to mention none of these look like the player (though some of the space enemies do, and it clashes with the rest of the enemies) so it just ends up looking out of place.

The controls are pretty clunky too, the mouse aiming is not bad but I don't think the "dragging the spaceship around while it shots in one direction" is very ideal. Why not have the player move with WASD or the arrows, and make them aim with the mouse?

And the enemies are not very hard or fun, most of them don't even move and the ones who do basicly die in one shot, same for the projectiles that sometimes fly around. They all have different sprites but they don't seem to behave differently at all? Please correct me if I'm wrong. As you progress the only thing that seems to be going up in difficulty is how many enemies are spammed, which most of the time doesn't seem to have rhyme or reason. Why not have some enemies be more durable than others? Or move around or shot at you differently?

I can tell you put effort into this and I think it's a good for practice, but you gotta put more thought into how it plays.

I'm Blur, I like to draw stuff.
